Vocaland — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Vocaland (Android package com.babenapps.vocaland), a vocabulary learning app published by Baben Apps.

The short version. Vocaland has no accounts and never asks who you are. Everything you learn — your progress, favorites and streak — stays on your phone. The app does show ads and does report crashes and anonymous usage statistics, and those services receive some technical data about your device. Details below.

1. What we never collect

Vocaland does not ask for, and cannot access:

2. What stays on your device

The following is written to your phone's local app storage and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else:

Uninstalling Vocaland deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.

3. What third-party services receive

Vocaland uses services from Google to show ads, to understand how the app is used, and to find out when it crashes. These services collect data directly on their own systems.

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Google AdMob Advertising identifier, IP address, device model and operating system, coarse region, and how you interacted with an ad To select and display ads, to measure them, and to detect invalid traffic
Firebase Analytics A randomly generated app instance identifier, device and OS information, country, and in-app events such as opening a category, finishing a quiz or watching a rewarded video To see which parts of the app are used, so it can be improved
Firebase Crashlytics Crash reports: the error, the sequence of code that led to it, the app version and the device state at that moment To find and fix bugs
Firebase Cloud Messaging A push notification token for the device Only if you switch reminders on, to deliver notifications
Wikimedia Commons Your IP address, as with any website you visit Some words play a real recording, which is downloaded from Wikimedia the first time

Their own policies govern that data: Google Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy, Wikimedia Privacy Policy.

4. Ads and your consent

Vocaland is free and is paid for by ads. It uses Google's official consent flow, so:

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).

5. Children

Vocaland is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, contact us and we will look into it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the data held about you, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent.

7. Retention

Data on your device lasts until you delete it. Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period under its standard retention settings; crash reports are kept up to 90 days. We keep no separate database of our own.

8. Security

Vocaland holds no server-side account and stores no personal data on our own infrastructure. All traffic between the app and the services listed above travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Significant changes will be announced in the app's release notes.
